Lift-and-Slide Door System for Family Homes and Residential Projects
The Schüco ASE 80 lift-and-slide door system combines the simple operation of well-known lift-and-slide doors with a sleek appearance. The recessed thresholds allow for seamless terrace usage. This product group can be installed in floor-to-ceiling configurations, and the specially developed frame joining method at KAV enables infinite installation possibilities in width, even along multiple angular lines.
Key Features:
1. Operation:
- Simple manual operation with a longer handle that provides significant leverage.
- When the handle is turned down, it pushes the carriages at the bottom frame of the leaf out and onto the track, allowing the glass panel to slide in one direction.
- The leafs can be fitted with dampening or assist mechanisms for smoother opening and closing, similar to kitchen drawer systems.
2. Weight Capacity:
- Manual operation supports a maximum leaf weight of 500 kg.
- Motorized operation can support leaf weights up to 600 kg, with control systems that can be either local or integrated into a building management system.
- The majority of the leaf weight is determined by the glass panel, with a weight calculation of 2.5 kg/mm/m² for the glass layers used.
3. Design and Appearance:
- The exterior and interior surface treatments can have different colors and/or qualities, consistent with the customization seen in KAV aluminium windows.
- The frames can be partially recessed on the sides and top, and the threshold can be fully recessed to the top edge of the flooring for a completely flat surface, depending on the type of flooring, drainage method, and height.
4. Glass and Profiles:
- The system can accommodate thick, triple-glazed insulating glass, suitable for various safety, acoustic, and sun protection requirements.
- Design wing profiles can be used at the junction of the sliding leaf and the fixed side light panel, offering an extra slim appearance on the facade.
- Fixed elements can be externally or internally glazed, with leafs designed for external or internal track sliding.
5. Customization Options:
- Handles and the placement of switches for motorized operation can vary, providing multiple possibilities for customization.
- The glass panels can be joined using silicone (structural) construction, thin pressure plates, or visible dividers integrated into the top and bottom frames.
The Schüco ASE 80 system offers a combination of advanced functionality and aesthetic versatility, making it a suitable choice for modern residential architecture that demands both performance and visual appeal.
