KAV has its own human resource capacity of nearly 30 people, together with its own production plant built on aluminium and glass technology, an IT park and its engineering office in Budapest.
Our factory in Kisbér, located on an area of 3 hectares, is equipped with the most state-of-the-art machinery park available today, so we are able to meet even seemingly impossible profile combination and glass technology challenges.
Our colleagues working in our factory unit not only take care of supply control, warehousing, production and glass- glueing technical tasks, but also of preparing for on-site installation.
We believe that there is a solution for every idea, as aluminium permits and uses opportunities, opening methods and glass sizes that our customers often don’t even think about in their wildest dreams.
Our skilled engineering team of more than 10 people is constantly working on making even the impossible a reality!
We believe that, in the field of doors and windows, in addition to traditional solutions, there is also a need for renewal, so our research and development team is developing a new generation of door and window solutions and materials.

With innovation, there is a solution to every issue
The changing needs of customers and architects require continuous innovation in the field of aluminium door and window systems, too. One of the basic ideas of KAV's operation is that we believe that there is a solution to every issue. Of course, we also work in this spirit during our developments. The KAV Optivision system was created with the professional support of Alukönigstahl. Together with the company's sales representative, Gábor Kiss, we are looking for answers to those frequently asked questions that can be solved using existing products.
Unlike its other competitors, KAV was not thinking about classic “contract manufacturing” - that is, not buying material from us, making and delivering it, so to speak - but actually looking at the whole project, looking for solutions and providing additional services to the Icelandic customer.
Architectural design of aluminium doors and windows in our time
The aim of the KAV team is to provide our customers with all the solutions for their unique doors and windows needs, whether it may be a minimal window, a frameless sliding door, an aluminium front door, a blind or even a curtain wall. Most customers start looking for windows when they already have the finished designs, but we increasingly often see, during the consultations, that these designs are not detailed enough. We talked about the correlation between architectural designs and the door and window solutions with Csaba Mravik, KAV Hungária’s chief development engineer of.
Just as in many areas of the world, ‘unique’ and ‘self-expression’ are the strongest buzzwords; so change the needs of architects and developers. However, most door and window manufacturers are finding it difficult to go beyond the standard items, although this area also offers many innovations in the field of architecture when it comes to sincerely rethinking structures.
When building or renovating a house, developers and architects may be wondering when it is worth deciding on an aluminium front door. In addition to durability, the main argument may be that aluminium can deliver dimensions and solutions that neither wood nor plastics allow.
Uniquely developed coating against viruses and bacteria
Az egyetlen építőipari szerkezet, amellyel az ember kontaktusba került, az a nyílászáró. Közvetlenül a kilinccsel és a fogantyúkkal érintkezünk, amelyek segítségével nyitni, zárni tudjuk a szerkezeteket. A fejlesztők a hagyományos megoldások mellett ma vírusokat és baktériumokat semlegesítő bevonatokkal, egyedi felületkezelési megoldásokkal és újrahasznosított, minimalista designú termékekkel is kísérleteznek.
We pay attention to what the customer wants to create
The KAV team is constantly expanding; we are currently looking for employees for several positions. Henriette Hégli graduated as an economist and came to our company in July last year after a career as an executive and real estate salesperson. As project coordinator, she is responsible for preparing individual quotes. In order to be able to perform her task as optimally as possible, she took part in a freshman programme in the first few weeks of her start-up, in which she got to know in detail the individual work processes, the market for custom doors and windows and the KAV way of thinking.
For a newly built property, in terms of windows and doors, one of the most important questions is whether prospective residents would like a building management system in the house, as all solutions need to be tailored to this in the design phase. For today's systems, system-specific connector units and auxiliary modules must already be planned and positioned so that they can remain completely hidden.
Three KAV buildings received the ALUTA Award of Excellence
After the successes of the past two years, three KAV buildings were awarded with the ALUTA award of excellence, the only quality recognition of Hungarian aluminium window, door, facade manufacturers, in the “small project”, i.e. residential building, category.
Climate change and increasingly sophisticated customer demands have accelerated the evolution of shading systems, not just of windows and doors. While in the past the goal was complete darkening, nowadays light control and maximum transparency are the main considerations. Thanks to this, most client choose lamellar and textile shadings.
Production of custom doors and windows at the KAV plant
Most domestic companies selling aluminium doors and windows do not have their own production capacity. However, in KAV's imposing manufacturing plant, they are able to resolve even seemingly impossible profile connections. This is where further thought-out versions of Schüco or Reynaers profile elements and completely unique door and window solutions are manufactured, designed and developed by KAV engineers. We talked to Albert Herbut, the head of KAV's Kisbér plant, about the production processes and the operation of the plant.
Frameless sliding door structures with an architect’s eye
Each project poses a different challenge to architects and to door and window professionals as well. One of our reference concepts is based on the unlimited view created by the wing-opening roof and the space stretched by the floor. Filigree division solutions, as well as frameless sliding mechanisms, were the main solution to achieve maximum transparency. We talked to the architect Orsolya Glavanovics about the issues raised by the aluminium door and window solutions implemented during the design and construction, who the Myd-II Interior Design Stúdióval planned it jointly, house operating on this for the special fenestration solutions.
3D scanner for the most accurate design, manufacture and installation of aluminium doors and windows
Prior to manufacturing aluminium doors and windows, KAV’s staff pay special attention to the technical preparation and professional planning. In order to have the most detailed information possible (not only for our employees, but also for our customers) we have expanded our instrumentation with one of the most modern 3D scanners. We talked to Péter Nagy, one of KAV's project engineers, about how the instrument works and what kind of information it provides to helps the work of the various trades.
Wind pressure is the biggest challenge for doors and windows designed for Iceland
Our company, is involved in the doors and windows solutions of the Marriott Hotel, being built near Harpa, one of the symbolic buildings of Reykavík. The Icelandic architecture and the weather conditions on the island require different systems from the ones we are used to at home, so the KAV team has also built a prototype for this work, taking into account, among others, the installation and insulation aspects. Details were given by Norbert Kiss, architect consultant and Csaba Mravik, chief development engineer.
Impact of construction industry changes on the market for aluminium doors and windows
In the recent period, price increases and a shortage of raw materials have brought along significant changes in the construction industry. We discussed with Károly Lovász, Managing Director of KAV Hungária, how this affects the market for aluminium and custom doors and windows, and what KAV's customers should be prepared for.
The villa is being built in a forest environment, which allowed KAV staff to work together with staff from the TSPC group. We talked to Andrea Tóth-Lovrity, Project Manager, about the unique working method and methodology of the architectural firm.
The Vizafogó parish lodge has been renewed with KAV support
The full building structure, energy renovation and functional extension of the St. Martin of Tours parish lodge has been completed. The concept of this building on Váci út in Budapest, serving religious purposes, was developed by the head of our company, Károly Lovász. And although the implementation was performed by others through the public procurement procedure, KAV supported and checked the entire process as professional advisor during the works. We talked about this five year process with Dr Gábor Tamás Juhász, the parish priest
This is how we can extend the life of aluminium doors and windows
Long service life, high quality, exceptional durability and a modern look. Usually, these considerations also play a role in someone’s choice of aluminium doors and windows for their family home. Although distributors often advertise that aluminium front doors and windows are maintenance-free, there are a few things that we can do, not only to increase their service life but also preserve their appearance.
